How does Profhilo work?
Profhilo works by stimulating collagen and elastin production within the skin by slowly releasing Hyaluronic Acid over time. As a stabilised product, Profhilo lasts around 28 days in the skin. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.
Is Profhilo Safe?
Profhilo is made from a natural Hyaluronic Acid and is stabilised without the addition of chemical additives. The absence of additives significantly minimises the risks of complications and side effects. As Profhilo has a high purity concentration rate and no chemical additives, it offers reduced side effects and better safety, as long as it is administered by a suitably trained, qualified and experienced practitioner.
How Long Does a Profhilo anti-ageing treatment take?
You will need to be numbed for 30 minutes prior to treatment. We ask that clients come in with no makeup on so that the face/neck can be cleaned and a layer of numbing cream applied. The treatment itself takes around 30 minutes and consists of a series of injections with a fine needle.
After Profhilo treatment
Following your Profhilo treatment, you may have some tiny raised lumps. If so these will subside over the next 24-48 hours. You may resume your daily activities. We ask that you not do any of the following:-
- No makeup to be applied for 12 hours
- No strenuous exercise for 24 hours
- No swimming for 48 hours
- No cosmetic treatments on the treated area for at least 48 hours
- Avoid extreme temperature changes for 7 days
Can I continue to have other anti-ageing treatments?
Profhilo is a treatment that can be used on its own or together with other treatments that we offer, such as laser treatments or anti-wrinkle injections. Profhilo does not need additional treatments to show its results but it will not stop you from having any other treatments that you wish to have.
When will I see results from my Profhilo treatment?
When you notice the results of your Profhilo treatment will vary from person to person. Profhilo spreads out after its injected forming a water-binding layer under the skin. For most people best results it's advised to have 2 treatments 2 weeks apart. And thereafter a treatment every 6 months to maintain.
