What does a derma filler do ?

Dermal fillers are substances injected into lips or the skin or the tear trough or penis enlargement or buttock filler as well as hand rejuvenation   to plump it up or in order to make the skin firmer and smooth out soft lines and wrinkles or even by strategically placing them in locations to create a lifting effect in the face or on the hands.

Types of dermal filler ?

Our recommended fillers are Teosyal, a range of injectable dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid designed to treat wrinkles, give volume to the face and also improve skin quality, Juvederm® Ultra, Stylage, Sinclair and MaiLi range of innovative monophasic cross-linked injectable dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid and antioxidants.

    How do dermal fillers work?

Derma filler work by smoothing and plumping facial lines, wrinkles, and folds.

As we age, our skin loses its natural substance of Hyaluronic Acid. Consequently, this causes the skin to lose its plumpness, elasticity, and develop lines and wrinkles.

The dermal filler remains in the skin, where it binds to water to produce a lift and provide firmness to the treated area.

At JR Medical, we offer two methods of administering dermal fillers. These are:

    • Needle – Injected directly into the lines and wrinkles.
    • Cannula – A needle creates an entry point for the cannula, which is then inserted and can travel underneath the skin to strategic points, providing a lifting effect.

DO fillers ever look natural ?

During your consultation, the doctor will assess your needs and advise which method would best suit you, ensuring the best possible results for your individual goals.

Is there a downside to fillers ?

You can experience the slight reactions listed below after treatment. However, these will soon subside as the filler settles into your skin. These can vary from one person to another.

    • bruising
    • tenderness
    • swelling
    • redness
    • itching

    Is dermal filler treatment painful?

The needle used is very fine; however, with all injections, there may be some slight discomfort during or after the injection.

To minimize any discomfort, we apply a numbing cream prior to treatment. Additionally, the majority of dermal fillers now contain a local anesthetic inside the syringe. Therefore, by applying a topical anesthetic on the surface of the skin, we can take away the edge of the pain during the initial injection. As a result, the procedure is generally well-tolerated with minimal discomfort.

How long will the treatment take?

We ask that you arrive at your derma fillers appointment in Essex with no makeup on. First, the area is thoroughly cleaned, and a numbing cream is applied for 30-60 minutes prior to the treatment. Following this, the time for the treatment depends on the size of the area to be treated. Therefore, the procedure typically takes approximately 10-30 minutes.

what is forbidden after filler ?

If the Doctor has used the needle method you can apply makeup 2 hours post-treatment. For Cannula method, we recommend waiting 24 hours before applying makeup.

what aftercare will I receive ?

After the treatment, we normally book you in for a checkup and massage of the area on the following day. The doctor will recommend any painkillers if necessary or provide you with a topical cream to take home. Additionally, we will see you 2 weeks after the treatment for a final check to ensure everything is progressing well. As a result, we will recommend a follow-up review after 6 months to maintain optimal results.

How long does dermal filler last?

Typically, the results of dermal fillers can last six to nine months or even a year, however, this varies from one person to another. The filler is gradually broken down and absorbed by the body over time, so the lines, wrinkles or lips will ultimately return to their previous appearance without top-up treatments. It is recommended to have touch up or repeat injections to help optimise the results to last longer.
